Here is a unique and enjoyable way for young children and older remedial students to strengthen visual perception, fine motor development and other basic skills.
This sequenced programme uses various geometric shapes, showing half of each shape complete, while allowing the child to complete the other half by connecting the dots. The missing half may be on any four sides of the design, helping students become familiar with positional concepts and part-to-the-whole concepts.
Other skills developed in the process include hand-eye control, visual closure, form and size discrimination. A colour, cut and paste section provides activities that youngsters enjoy immensely and that gives them additional reinforcement of fine-motor development. The book also covers basic language and math concepts for shapes, positions and colours.
These perceptual training activities are suitable for 6-11 year olds and for older students in remedial programmes.
