This book has multiple applications. It can be used simply as Symbol Tracking for students with no musical knowledge whatsoever. It can also be used by students with some elementary knowledge of music and notation. It may also be played on a musical instrument, the pupil trying to match the note played for each line in turn.
The top line on every page gives the sequence for tracking. Subsequent lines each contain one note corresponding to the relevant note on the topline, taking each note in turn.
