Youngsters have always reacted favourably to rhyming - and that’s really all phonograms are: groups of families of words that share the same rhymes scheme (link, mink, sink, clink, etc.).
There are literally hundreds of phonograms and 35 are presented in this book (selected on the numbers of rhyming words they produce as well as the frequency with which they appear in early reading assignments).
