You may already know the interest level of the student but you do not have the time to 'guess' at an appropriate reading level - one that is challenging but not too difficult.
All the student has to do is to start reading individual words, using the Word Card. When the student incorrectly pronounces a specified number of words you will have a good idea of what reading level to use with this youngster.
Responses also offer clues to student’s ability to phonetically decode words. WIS packet includes plasticised Word Card with Directions, pad of 50 Recording Forms
