AA-SIGTS - ANN ARBOR SCALES FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF GIFTED AND TALENTED STUDENTS (10PK)
by Phillips and Phillips
Purpose: Provides an extensive checklist of the many and varied characteristics of gifted and talented pupils
Age: 5 through to 18yrs
Admin: Individual
Time: Varies
Schools have a responsibility to meet the educational needs of all their pupils. For the gifted and talented, this includes providing greater challenges in lessons and opportunities for pupils to develop potential gifts and talents.
School and local authorities may also provide additional activities beyond the everyday timetable.
All mainstream schools should register the identification of their gifted and talented pupils as part of the Annual School Census. Schools will identify children based on evidence including test results, quality of work and the views of teachers and parents.
The Ann Arbor Scales for Identifying gifted and Talented Students provide an extensive checklist of the many and varied characteristics of gifted and talented pupils and is ideal for both primary and secondary aged pupils.
