Privacy Policy

Ann Arbor Publishers Limited do not disclose buyers' information to third parties except in the course of normal business (your address to delivery agents, for example) and as described below.

1. The Data we Need

Ann Arbor Publishers Limited operate an eCommerce website. This website cannot operate without the collection and retention of customer data. We collect the following types of data:

  • Address
  • Contact Numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Delivery Adresses
  • Order history
  • IP address

  • Other data about educational attainment and professional memberships

     

2. Why we need the data

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information is your consent to provide the following:

  • To process orders
  • To invoice orders
  • To collect payment
  • To deliver your order
  • Marketing where you have specifically opted in to our occasional newsletter
  • To meet the requirements of the standards and professional testing practices set out by The British Psychological Society and equivalent professional bodies to ensure testing materials are provided based on the users education, training and experience.
  • To enable online delivery or online scoring of tests when provided by third parties

     

3. What do we do with the information you provide?

The personal data you provide enables us to open an account in your name and to subsequently process and deliver orders. Educational and professional attainment data enables us to provide materials in accordance with best practise standards. We do not provide your data to third parties with the exception of those parties involved in the delivery process who will require your delivery details and, in the case of digital content, online delivery or online scoring platforms sufficient data to enable provision of the online service. Typically, for online and digital content your name and email address will be provided to the third party (or such other limited information justifiably required).

We hold your data on our servers in the United Kingdom and at our offices in Belford, Northumberland.

4. How long do we keep your data

Your personal data is held until your account is closed. You may close your account by emailing customer services using the usual email link at the bottom of the web page or the 'delete my account' link in your account after login.

In any event we are required to retain sales data for a period of 7 years under HMRC data retention rules. Where you have opted to received marketing information you may unsubscribe at any time.
 

5. What are your rights?

You have a right that personal data held by us is accurate and complete. You can log in to your account area and update your personal details at any time. Alternatively, email us using the link at the bottom of this webpage (look for the email icon) and we will update your account records, and delete any incorrect information.

6. Cookies

  • Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart. Our server records details to fulfil your order.Data collected by this site is used to:


a. Take and fulfill customer orders
b. Administer and enhance the site and service
c. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes

The shopping cart requires that the visitor's computer accept a session cookie and is essential. This session cookie contains simply the session ID number which identifies the visitor to the store, as separate from other visitors. The session cookie contains no personal identity information, and in itself is thus anonymous as a 3rd-party cannot use anything in the cookie to identify the visitor in any way.

What are Cookies?

They are tiny pieces of code that enable our web server to keep track of your visit. For example they enable us to 'remember' what you've put in the cart and the Google cookies enable us to see if we are operating successfully, and whether customers can easily find our products. They do not identify you personally and are anonymous bits of data. Cookies have been used for years.
